At the heart of the new S-Class lies a technological leap that reshapes the entire driving experience: the introduction of MB.OS, the purpose-built Mercedes-Benz Operating System. More than just an infotainment platform, MB.OS acts as a supercomputer that connects every domain of the vehicle, from driving assistance and comfort to infotainment and powertrain management, into a single, intelligent ecosystem. Linked to the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Cloud, it enables over-the-air updates that keep the S-Class continuously current throughout its life. This intelligence underpins the latest generation of MBUX, now more intuitive, personal and conversational than ever before. The AI-based “Hey Mercedes” Virtual Assistant supports natural dialogue, multi-turn conversations and short-term memory, transforming interaction into something closer to a human exchange than a command system. The enhanced Zero Layer interface places frequently used functions directly within reach, while more than 40 apps—from productivity tools to streaming services, can be seamlessly integrated into daily journeys. Navigation also enters a new dimension. Based on Google Maps and enhanced by MBUX Surround Navigation, the system combines real-time routing with a 3D representation of the vehicle’s surroundings, allowing drivers to see precisely what the car’s assistance systems perceive. The optional Augmented Reality Head-Up Display projects navigation cues directly onto the road ahead, reducing cognitive load and increasing confidence in complex urban environments. Rear-axle steering, standard at 4.5 degrees and optionally extending to 10 degrees, dramatically improves manoeuvrability in tight urban spaces while enhancing stability at higher speeds.
